New Women in Fire session at Fire Australia 2019

FPA Australia is excited to announce the Women in Fire networking event as the latest addition to the Fire Australia 2019 conference program. This networking event, held Thursday 16 May, is open to all full conference delegates and is key to empowering individuals currently working in, or aspiring to be part of the fire protection industry.

Through open discussion across a range of topics, attendees will have the opportunity to be part of shaping the career paths for women aspiring to be part of the fire protection industry. The networking event will feature a discussion panel of three prominent women in the fire protection sector, chaired by Rhondel Johannessen, Managing Director of Deltra Australia Pty Ltd and FPA Australia’s Vice President:

  • Lorraine Carli, Vice President of Outreach & Advocacy, NFPA
  • Amanda Leck, Director, Information & Community Safety, AFAC
  • Elissa Fazio, National Operations Risk & Compliance Manager, News Corp Australia and Board Director, FPA Australia.

The discussion panel will explore the opportunities and career pathways for women in fire protection, the value women can add to the industry, and the hurdles to entry and how the industry can overcome them. The panel will be followed by a morning tea and an opportunity to network with like-minded industry members.
